The two most expensive things I've priced lately are A-1 steak sauce and Pepto-Bismol.If you get one, you need the other.

Sank, it is now cheaper to smoke in California than it is to drive.

Dead on.. conservation as a concept eludes us. What's it going to take?

We've cut way back. Driving the new scion to work and back, (the efficient non-hybrid mind you, the more economical and more green in the long run than the hybrids) biking on local errands etc. Makes a difference, but the bottomline.. the decision to live in the suburbs is going to wind up costing me more than anything lese in the long run. Mistake.

You forgot bottled designer water like Fiji or Voss. I remember a friend of mine in the UK said back in the 1990s that he was astonished that gas in America was cheaper than bottled water and thought that was crazy. Grangy has a point that food is more expensive because of gas but not always.

Honestly, I have always been surprised that the US paid so much less for gas than any other industrialized nation in the world and in a way, it is about time that it gets that high so that people will stop and think before they get into their car instead of walking or using public transport. I am an expat in Australia and we pay over $6.50/gallon and that's cheap compared to Europe where they pay up to $9.00/gallon.

Socher exclaimed that Hillary supporters will back John McCain for President. Stating that he is the best choice

[...]

She claims the Hillary Clinton Democrats are fed up with the DNC and absolutely disgusted with their electoral process. Hillary won the primary election, according to the popular vote. She deserves to be the nominee.
So is it because they think McCain is best suited for the job or because they're fed up with the DNC?
Obama just has too many questionable acquaintances.
Never mind McCain's questionable acquaintances, huh?
I’m so glad to finally see this country and it’s party lines coming together to support freedom and the American way!
If this wasn't so disturbing, it would be hilarious.

Michelle Obama is fair game to the press. (Don't faint!) I heard that radio broadcast yesterday as well, and could not believe O'Reilly saying that she isn't. I think he just wants Barack on The Factor so badly, he will do or say anything. Like you said, we've only just begun. (Thanks alot for sticking that song in my head, by the way!) No one gave Cindy McCain a pass when she didn't want to give up her tax records, and certainly when Bill Clinton was running, Hillary was villified almost on a daily basis.
However, I do like the fact that he sticks up for his wife, he loves her very much and it shows. They seem to have a great family. I think most men would want to defend their wives, because it always hurts more when someone sticks it to a loved one. In this day and age, if you run for office, you have to know that it will be very hard on your family, and that the press will be ruthless.
One more thing, regarding Byron's comment, I agree Michelle was probably referencing Hillary during that comment she made about running your own household. It was unfair, because no matter what hoochie coochie Bill was up to, I would say she did a great job raising Chelsea, who seems to be a great kid and extremely intelligent. But she could have also been referencing the fact that John McCain is divorced. Who knows?
Great story, by the way. I'm proud that you care so much about this country, and that you are so involved in this process. (Even if we don't agree most of the time!)

I knew you would write something on this.....Anyway, on The Radio Factor tonight, they were discussing this same issue. A caller brought up the time back in August of 2007 when Michelle made the statement "if you can't run your household, you can't run the White House"(i'm not linking to it...just google the quote). Now this was more than likely a shot at Hillary, but when confronted about it, she and Barack both denied it. Hmmmm... You know, I have no problem with the comment...none...but if it were'nt directed at Hillary, then just who was she referring to? Simple question right? I just think that if comments like these appear from her, she should be held accountable for them. Just my 2 cents....

love you babe...
